Live Virtual Events

The 2022 NRJE Conference will be anchored by two live virtual events. These will be an opportunity for NRJE members to learn together, celebrate awards and achievements and discuss the present and future of the organization.

These events will be held on Zoom.  Links to the Zoom events are posted on the schedule page and our Discord server (to join the server, click here).  Register for access.

Opening Session
June 1

4:00pm - 5:00pm (EDT)/
1:00pm - 2:00pm (PDT)

Our opening session will feature an inspiring kick-off message from Sara Myers Allen, the executive director of the Jewish Teen Education and Engagement Funder Collaborative and Associate Vice President of Community and Jewish Life at JFNA. 
 
With welcoming remarks from conference chair, Josh Krug and Ari Y Kelman,

Sara Myers Allen has nearly two decades of experience in both the private sector and the Jewish community.  Most recently, she served as senior vice president at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles where, among other responsibilities, she led the multi-million dollar NuRoots young adult engagement initiative and previously served as Managing Director of the Professional Leaders Project. She began her career in public relations at the time of the convergence of entertainment and consumer technology, representing brands including Excite! At Home, Sony AIBO robotic dog, Skype and Viber.  She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Virginia.

Mary Helen Immordino-Yang, EdD, studies the psychological and neurobiological bases of social emotion, self-awareness and culture and their implications for learning, development and schools. She is a professor of education at the USC Rossier School of Education, a Professor of Psychology at the Brain and Creativity Institute, a member of the Neuroscience Graduate Program Faculty at the University of Southern California and director of the USC Center for Affective Neuroscience, Development, Learning and Education (CANDLE).

Closing Session
June 21

To bring our conference season to a close we are proud to host Professor Mary Helen Immordino-Yang (USC), who will share insights from her research on the relationship between emotion and learning.

We will also announce and celebrate NRJE award winners and introduce the new members of the NRJE Board.
